First off was Joe Calzaghe against Mikkel Kessler for super middleweight dominance. This fight was outstanding, and while Kessler was at the top of his game, Calzaghe proved to be too much for the Dane. Calzaghe was dominant throughout with the exception of two rounds that went to Mikkel. Joe threw a tremendous amount more landing twice as much as his opponent. This fight for Calzaghe solidified his spot at the top pound for pound fighters in the world, and one of the all time greats in the game.
Thank god for my DVR!!

Next up was the IFL Grand Prix, with Chris Horedecki facing off with Bart Palaszewski in their rematch to advance to the finals. The fight went to the scorecards yet again for these lightweights. Bart started off slow with Horedecki coming out with crisp strikes from the opening. Palaszewski came out with a vengance in the second, rocking Chris and it looked like it could be lights out for the 20 year old, but he recouped and came back to win the decision in the third.
The IFL needs 5 rounds for championship fights!!!!!!
Vladdy Matyushenko took out Alex Schoenauer for the light heavyweight belt. Vladdy controlled all three rounds with his superior wrestling and GNP. Although Vladdy controlled throughout I would have liked to see this one go 5 rounds, because Alex showed that he had submission skills, and you can't doubt his stand up.
Not aired was a middleweight bout featuring a vicious knockout of Brent Beauparlant by Benji Radach.
Lastly super-featherweight champ Juan Manual Marquez making his first title defense against the homie Rocky Juerez. With Juarez being the aggressor early garnering chants for the Texan from the crowd in Tucson. A headbutt to the left eyebrow of Juarez opened a gash which would potentially cause some vision issues for Rocky. After being robbed of a minute of the fourth round, and the option of a no contest no longer available, the cut is looking progressively nastier the fight should have been stopped, but it wasn't and Marquez gets the decision. Not to take anything away from the champ, because it was Marquez's boxing that won the bout, not the accidental headbutt.
