WBA middleweight titlist Felix Sturm gets help from some lawyers and gets out of contract with Universum. Sturm was quoted by German based BILD-Zeitung as stating " I will never fight for Universum again", and that "I would rather retire". Those are some strong words coming from such a popular German fighter. Felix Sturm is best known for his 06/05/2005 match up with Oscar De La Hoya where he out boxed the "Golden Boy" but was robbed in the decision. Since then he has only fought in Europe, losing just once to Javier Castillejo by 10th rd TKO but later avenging that loss and regaining the WBA crown via unanimous decision. Hopefully with the split brings bigger fights against top competition. If he doesn't get any big fights or try to fight state side he should think of retiring because it is very hard to lure big name American fighters over to Europe to fight on European soil.
