LATIN FURY 12 LIVES UP TO NAME, JUANMA PUSHED TO BRINK BY MTAGWA AND GAMBOA WINS EASY

Juanma was pushed to the very edge by tough gym warrior and cage veteran Rogers Mtagwa. Every one has heard of the legendary gym wars in Philly and last night you get to see a a product of that. It doesn't matter who you are or what your record is if you come up in Philly you will be battle tested in the gym. If you survive the gym wars you can be ready for anyone, including a young phenom like Juan Manuel Lopez as shown last night by Rogers Mtagwa. Juan Manuel Lopez was severely tested and some how made it to the final bell to get the unanimous decision. The official scores were 116-111, 115-111, and 114-113. the last being the most accurate. Juanma hit him with everything he had and Mtagwa didn't falter except in the 5th round when he tasted the canvas. Rogers hurt Lopez as well and almost had him out in the 12th. If he has a few more seconds or his corner was more protective Rogers would have scored a 12th rd KO. This fight was an instant classic and should be a lesson to young fighters every wear. Don't underestimate anyone don't look passed anyone especially someone as tough as Mtagwa. Gamboa won easy with a 4th rd TKO to set up the dream match up with Lopez. It is too bad the people will want to see a rematch with Mtagwa first. It was a fight that can change a fighter and Lopez may never be the same.

Also back in action on another card Israel Vasquez who everyone remembers because of his violent trilogy with Rafael Marquez. Israel scored a highlight reel 9th rd TKO of Angel Priolo. It was the first time he was back in the ring since march of 2008 when he was injured with a detached retina. It was good to see him back in the ring with no fear but the ring rust showed it was tougher then he wanted.
