Chad Dawson unanimous w12 Glen Johnson 115-113, 115-113, 117-111
Chad Dawson made Glen Johnson showed no APATHY in Connecticut tonight against Chad Dawson and either did El Perro. Chad looked more calm and professional against the tough Road Warrior Glen Johnson then in their first encounter. You could tell after the opening round it was going to be an up hill battle for Glen Jonson and a totally different fight then their last. When Chad stood his ground he stopped the relentless attack of his opponent with sharp precision punches. Glen tried to pressure all night but because of Chad's great circling ability he was unsuccessful of sustaining his patented attack. Even Glens sparring with the great supermiddleweight champ Lucian Bute didn't help him tonight. Chad was just beating him to the punch all night long and keeping him off balence with his movement and angles. Every time you thought Johnson was starting to make progress chad had an answer for him. He lead, he countered, he threw combinations, well he did it all. In boxing you can get old in one night and that is just what the great warrior looked tonight, but only time will tell if he is as old as he looked tonight against the young lion. If Chad Dawson continues to progress and learn under Eddie Mustapha Muhammad he will reign for as long as he wants. I was totally impressed with the 27 year old Chad Dawson's performence tonight, he is as BAD as his nickname implies.
Alfredo Angulo KO 3 Harry Joe Yorgey Time 1:03
I'm sure everyone is sick of all dog related cliches related to Angulos nickname "El Perro', but I really just don't care because they fit. As soon as Angulo was let off of his chain he attacked like a neighborhood pit with a thirst for blood. Yorgey looked like the mailman when he saw the attacking dog Angulo moving backward. Angulo mauled him with a ferocity that Mike Vick would applaud hitting Harry Joe with clean hard punches. He bloodied his nose and stunned him after round 1, and he never looked back. Angulo didn't just throw one punch and sit back and enjoy his work, he followed each one up with one harder than the first. Jack Lowe should have stepped into save his fighter but then again he can't even get his boy Kelly to even fight after the one sided beating he sustained at the hand of B-Hop. Yorgey was out of his class and he paid for it in blood, hat Angulo was more than happy to take. Angulo come back with the second impressive performance after his boxing lesson he took from Kermit Cintron. When can you tell you are watching a good fighter? You can tell by the way they come back from a loss, and Angulo came back in impressive fashion. Too many time now a days fighters are afraid to take on tough completion and risk a loss on their records. What these fighters don't realize is when you fight the best and loose the fans will give you respect. Angulo learned from his loss and Mexicans every whee should be proud that he is proving to be a real fighter and we thank him for that.

The dog references for Angulo should include a "poodle" because that is what he looked like the night I saw him get dominated by Kermit Cintron. Angulo beating the likes of Harry Yorgey may have you and others thinking he's some kind of Pit Bull...HBO and Gary Shaw would love everyone to feel that way but how quickly we forget how very ordinary Kermit Cintron made him look. Angulo is a good fighter and at this point of his career, nothing more-nothing less. He "might" end up being a champion but at this point he's simply not. When he stepped up and fought a legitimate fighter in Kermit Cintron we all saw his flaws. He looks great against far inferior fighters but so what. Why HBO and others are so full of this guy is beyond me. He puts the dog collar on and we're supposed to think he's some tough "pit bull" dog? Give me a break. Cintron showed me, and should have shown everyone that Angulo is a poodle...okay...maybe a lab but nothing at all to be afraid of...or interested in for that matter. Wow...he KO's Yorgey...come on, what does that really tell us? I'll tell you...nothing!
I was talking about his performance last night, he did what he was supposed to do against a taylor-made opponent like H.J.Y. KO him in spectacular fashion.I was being sarcastic when I was using the dog references, I liked the poodle one you used. Anyone who can box will give Angulo a problem. Do I think he will run the division? No. And does he have many flaws? yes. But he is he is fun to watch that's what i was saying
