Manny Paquiao does it again and this time against Miguel Cotto, a strong powerful welterweight that can punch. Manny's speed and ability to land hard punches from strange angles won him the fight in front of the sell out crowd of 16,200. 7 titles in 7 weight classes is amazing and not easy to do even in a time when you have so many different belts out there. The first 4 rounds were very competitive and the fight could have gone either way. It wasn't until Cotto was hurt by a knockdown that Manny began to flash his blazing speed. The problems that Cotto had with Manny's speed was only compounded by his in and out rhythm. A bunch of fighters have had speed and power but not many can land hard punches from either hand from odd angles. His superior footwork allow him to get into great punching position and that is just what he did last night against Miguel. The ref stopped the fight in the last round or Manny would have put Cotto on his back. Cotto proved not to be a shot fighter but a gallant warrior that endured a vicious beating only after he fought with everything he had. This win sets up the possible mega fight with Floyd Mayweather. That fight if it is made will be the biggest pay-per-view fight in boxing history and will command a huge payday.
