Like It or Not Kimbo is Here for a While
Kimbo Slice drew the highest ratings on a TUF finale card in the history of the series peaking at 5.2 million. That is saying something considering the TUF platform is what saved the UFC from demise with the first installment giving fans a brawl between Griffin and Bonner that had people tuning in left and right. Hardcore fans may hate it that Kimbo is continually going to draw higher than even the most talented fighters on the planet but the fact remains: Kimbo sells and the public is buying. Fedor Emelienenko's network TV debut pulled numbers just above that of what Kimbo did on cable television. Houston Alexander may not have been the cream of the crop in the UFC's 205lb division but he is a legitimate fighter and had the potential to end Kimbo's hype train. The fact that Kimbo was able to handle him both standing and on the ground is an accomplishment that the haters cannot take from him. Now that Slice has legitimized his skillset in the UFC, at least temporarily, fans can more than likely look forward to seeing the big man's beard on a PPV card near you.
