OH CANADA, JEAN PASCAL WINS

Jean Pascal wins his rematch against Adrian Diaconu and retains his title, despite an injury. Diaconu started fast but faded quick, he began to wilt and loose gas early on. The early rounds were close with Diaconu pressuring, and taking the fight right to Pascal. After the 5Th round it seemed Pascal's boxing ability was getting to him because he looked considerably slower in the 6Th. Pascal used movement and combinations to constantly attack his two time foe. In the tenth round Pascal injured his shoulder and was in pain. He showed true grit and determination by boxing the championship rounds with such an injury. He won the fight on all three judges scorecards 118-110, 117-111, 117-111, to give him the unanimous decision. Canada will keep their champion at least for another fight. This win is big for Pascal because it could set up a marquee match up against Chad Dawson or another big name for a big pay day. Fights in Montreal are exciting and fun to watch because they draw such big crowds. The Canadians have a champion at super middleweight in Lucian Bute and at Light Heavyweight they have Jean Pascal, not bad.
