One good thing we can look forward to in Germany is up and coming heavyweight prospect Denis Boytsov. The young Russian will be fighting on the under card of the Robert Stieglitz title fight against Kevin Montiy. Not a big name but Kevin has fought and lost to Timur Ibragimov, Shane Cameron and, Michael Grant. People are impatient with prospects, especially of the heavyweight variety, but chill out. Young fighters need to work their way up and learn some skills on the way. He is The Ring's 7TH ranked heavyweight and if he wants a real chance at winning the heavyweight title he should work his way up. I think he has a chance at beating most of the top ten but he needs to start stepping his way up in competition slowly but surely. If he does move up slow but with better and better competition he will get better and the rest of the top ten will take care of themselves. He has already beat Vinny Maddalone, Taras Bidenko, Israel Garcia, and Jason Gvern with ease. To me it makes no sense to step up and fight a Klitschko right now. Plus who is going to corner him if he happens to fight Vitali? It wont be his trainer Fritz Sdunek because you know he will train Vitali for that one. The worst thing a young fighter can do is step up in class too fast and get dominated. It takes away their confidence and if they get beat bad enough they may never recover. On the other hand if they keep busy and fight better and better they opposition every time out then the sky is the limit. I like this kid he is skilled, aggressive and moving up the food chain. I think that with a little time and a constant diet of better opposition he will be headed for the tip-top of the heavyweight division. If he can manage his career the right way and get better there is no reason that Russian fighters wont still be dominating the heavyweight division for years to come.
