SPORTS BRAWL OF THE WEEK: THE HANSON BROTHERS

Many people were skeptical of the owner of the Charlestown Chiefs Joe McGrath when he made the deal for the Hanson brothers. Even the team's player/coach Reggie Dunlap had his doubt about the strange looking trio. Dunlap even refused to play the Hansons at first until he had no other options. You see Coach Dunlap was old school and he believed in playing old time hockey like Eddie Shore and all the other past greats. The Hanson brothers sent a message when they first stepped on to the ice for the Chiefs, and it was a message of pain. The thick glasses wearing goons checked, hooked, charged, boarded, and brawled for respect. The Hanson freak show was drawing people to the Chief games. You have to understand that these guys were from the tough Iron league, and used tinfoil in their gloves to better maim their opponents. Jeff, Steve, and Jack Hanson will go down in history for being some of the toughest, totally insane players to ever play the game.
