Glen Johnson TKO 6 Yusaf Mack TIME: 2:21
Glen looked good in his return after loosing to Chad Dawson with an impressive win Mack. He must be drinking from the same fountain of youth Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, and Randy Couture are. He won the IBF title eliminator, Tavoris Cloud next (not so easy).
Ed Paredes KO 2 Joey Hernandez TIME: 1:53
Great highlight reel left hook knockout for the young, and lanky Paredes. Nothing tastes better then redemption against a hated foe, especially if you get a KO.
Guillermo Rigondeaux KO 1 Adolfo Landeros TIME: 0:28
It happened so quick that there isn't much to talk about, except what a body blow.
Yudel Jhonson TKO 1 Dorian Beaupierre TIME: 2:18
ESPN2 had a full card of knockouts and this fight was one of them. Quick aggressive young fighter against older not so quick veteran coming out of retirement.
Freddy Hernandez KO 5 DeMarcus Corley TIME: 1:48
Hernandez can now add Chop, Chop Corley to his growing list of victims that already includes veteran Ben Tackie. SHOBOX with 2 nice knock outs and more young talent nice job Showtime.
Francisco Contreras KO 1 Juan Castaneda Jr TIME: 1:38
If you were tuning in to SHOBOX looking for a long night of boxing exhibition, you didn't get it the 2 fights lasted a total of 206 seconds.
Lateef Kayode KO 2 David Whittom TIME: 1:23
The Nigerian heavyweight made quick work of his overmatched opponent, 10-0, 9KOs. A Nigerian Heavyweight with power? Who would have guessed? (see Sam Peter, Ike Ibeabuchi)
Silvio Branco TKO 4 Laszlo Hubert
Still fighting and he gets his 60th win in 72 bouts for his efforts. He has lost to Jean Pascal, Frabrice Tiozzo, Sven Ottke and has a win over Glen Johnson so you can't say he hasn't fought anyone.
Tomasz Adamek W 12 Jason Estrada SCORES: 115-113, 116-112, 118-110
He is now 2-0 at heavyweight and wants a fight with Chris Arreola we will see how he does against him. He is strong has power, a good chin, and is fun to watch what else do you need in a heavyweight? It seems like the hot thing to do after you win the cruiserweight championship you move up to the money division. The cruiserweight division has had a bunch of talent in the last few years but they never stay around to fight each other.
Timur Ibragimov TKO 3 Awadjh Tamim TIME: 2:15
6 straight wins against very limited opposition not exactly the way to the top but unfortunatly we will probably have to see him again. His last win was against Al "Ice" Cole wow, emember him?
Jorge Solis KO 7 Likar Ramos TIME: 2:59
His only 2 losses he has were against Manny Pacquiao and most recently Cristobal Cruz and a no contest against Humberto Soto. He has always done enough to get to the next level of compititon and lose.
Edwin Valero TKO 10 Antonio DeMarco TIME: 0:10
Valero is scary, I repeat Valero is scary, this guy hits too hard. There is talk he maybe fighting Tim Bradley very soon, that is a neat match up. One would think Bradley would easily out box the Venezuelan but he is 27-0 with 27 KOs so you never know.
Carlos Abregu W 10 Richard Gutierrez SCORES: 97-91, 97-91, 98-90
Abregu is exciting but sloppy he has a chin issue but not a heart issue because he gets up and wins. He will probably never win a world title but if he can keep winning dramatically then he will be a draw. He should have 1 loss on his record against David Estrada but that is boxing and he can keep his unblemished record for a little while longer. I think Abregu would lose to anyone of the the top ten in the welterweight division, but who knows.
Cesar Soto KO 1 Eden Marquez TIME: 2:52
I can't believe this guy is still fighting, I can remember watching him in the most boring fight I ever saw at the Prince Naseem Hamed fight in 1999 in Detroit. That fight started a 10 fight winless streak for the suborned fighter. He has lost to many good fighters including one of my favorites Johnny Tapia.
Daiki Kameda W 12 Denkaosan Kaovichit SCORES: 116-110, 114-112, 116-110
Kameda gives Kaovichit only his second professional loss and takes the WBA World Flyweight belt in the process. This fight was a rematch and this time the Japaneese fighter got the win this time instead of a draw so you know what that means RUBBER-MATCH. The Kameda family is hot as of late with both brothers winning championship belts. Daiki has no beaten the number 3 ranked flyweight in the world and his brother Koki is the number 1 ranked fighter in the division. Could we have a Klitschko situation in the flyweight division? I'm don't know if Daiki is as good as his brother or if they will last as long as the brothers Klitschko, but they are crazy enough to fight each other.
