UFC 113: Rua Got You All In Check!

The judges scorecards weren't going to have a say in the meeting between Shogun and Lyoto Machida, that was evident from the onset of the bout. Both fighters looked dead-set on victory and fought aggressively for the short time the fight lasted. Shogun and Machida traded kicks and punched with ill intent and Shogun even hit the ground a couple of times. The end came as Shogun landed a hard right hand to Lyoto's temple that dropped him to the mat and Rua knocked Machida cold with punches from the mount after following him to the floor. Rua has completely returned to the form of his Pride FC days and looks to be the force that we all thought he would be coming over from the Japanese promotion.

Daley-Koscheck ended with controversy as a frustrated Paul Daley landed a blatant foul on Josh after the end of the third round. The move has Dana White saying that Daley will never fight for the UFC again for his actions. The contest itself was a boring lay-and-pray fest courtesy of Kos, and Daley was visibly frustrated that he was unable to get his punches off on the frizzy haired one. Kos did little to finish as he turned the bout into a wrestling match, controlling position and hardly landing any ground and pound to speak of. Aside from two rear naked choke attempts it was a listless performance on the part of Koscheck, but did not warrant that type of foul on Daley's part. It was a mistake that will cost Daley heavily and in one moment of anger and frustration he ended his UFC career indefinitely.
