Steve Cunningham TKO 5 Troy Ross: stoppage due to cut
The USS Cunningham had to overcome a rough storm to get the victory and regain the IBF cruiserweight belt. You could tell who had the power and, who had the overall better skill in this one. From the opening bell Ross looked tentative and Cunningham was the aggressor in this one. He was able to stun Ross in the second round after Cunningham chased him to the ropes to land power shots. The Canadian, SEASON 4 Contender winner used his dynamic power to drop the American in the 4TH round. However this would not be enough to stop the determined Cunningham. Cunningham used his speed to land hard, crisp shots which opened a sever cut Ross's left eyelid. Referee Bill Clancy called the fight after the fourth because the cut was too much, and he wanted to see Ross fight another day. Cunningham is known for getting off the deck and fighting back with all he has. He did it today in Germany and got him the IBF belt. He looked quicker than Ross even from the start of the fight. I thought Ross's power would give Cunningham some problems just because he has it in both hands. The knockdown in the forth wasn't that bad as Cunningham pulled himself from the canvas in disgust to beat the count. The fight was entertaining and I wouldn't mind to see a rematch if Cunningham can't get a third fight with the WBC champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. I think the reason people enjoy watching a fighter like Cunningham is because he can get hurt . He is no superman, he is real and he can bleed just like the rest of us. I think he can rule the cruiserweight division, and it can be fun to watch.

It's just to bad to lose a fight that way. I think that Troy "The Boss" Ross would of surprised cunningham. It looked to me that Troy was just finding his groove..he had alot more to bring. It just tough luck for Troy he had to get hooked by a thumb to ripe his eye-lid. It's boxing anything can happen. I know that it would of been a tough fight for both fighters...it would of been exciting to see what the outcome would of really been. It would be just fair for a rematch, but sometimes it's not in the fighters control.
