Yonnhy Perez, Abner Mares, Joseph Agbeko, and of course Vic Darchinyan have all signed on for this single elimination bantamweight tourney. Every fighter in this tournament already knows each other all too well. Showtime already has the Super Six Boxing Classic which has been an international hit. Showtime is adding the 118 lb. group to its already full fall lineup. The first group of fights will happen in December, then the second in early 2011. These guys weight 118, and they throw a lot of punches at a very fast pace. This will promise to be an action packed group of fights. Here is a little look at the men that have signed to fight in the tournament.
Vic Darchinyan (35-2-1, 27 KO) vs. Abner Mares (20-0-1, 13 KO)
Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan
Vic was born in Armenia and resides in Sydney Australia, where he is a huge star. This charismatic power puncher is always entertaining. Darchinyan has earned world titles in multiple divisions including, Flyweight, Super Flyweight, and he just picked up the vacant IBO bantamweight title. He has beaten many great fighters including, Irene Pacheco, Cristian Mijares, and Jorge Arce. He is willing to fight anyone, proving so by facing and losing to Nonito Donaire, and Joseph Agbeko. His fight with Agbeko was an action packed brawl in which he never gave up. Nonito Donaire was invited to the tournament but declined.

Abner Mares
Mares is a young, powerful, rough, and tough, Mexican fighter. He always looks to thrill the crowd. Come on the guy is a 24 year old Mexican fighter of course he is gonna thrill the crowd. He proved he wasn't an overrated prospect by scoring a majority draw against Yonnhy Perez in what could have been the fight of the year candidate in May. Many thought that Abner won that fight. The scores were 115-113 Mares, 114-114, and 114-114. If he can beat Darchinyan, and Perez can beat Agbeko they will get a chance to do it again.Yonnhy Perez (20-0-1, 14 KO) vs. Joseph Agbeko (27-2, 22 KO)
Yonnhy "El Columbiano" Perez
This volume punching bantamweight is very good as he has a draw with Abner Mares, and a win against Agbeko. Agebeko- Perez was for sure an action packed, fight of the year candidate. Agbeko was on top of the world after defeating Vic Darchinyan, and then he fought Perez. Paerez brought everything he had, and left it all in the ring that night. After the Agebeko win he didn't take a weak fight he fought Abner Mares. If this doesn't prove what he is made of I don't know what does.
Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
Who knew King Kong was from Ghana? If you thought Agbeko's nickname was a little bit much, I'm sure you didn't after he beat the brash Vic Darchinyan. He took the fight to the Armenian and stole his thunder. He out worked him, beating him to the punch all night earning himself a well deserved unanimous decision win. Agbeko has as good of a chance to win this tournament as anyone in it. He wants to avenge his loss to Perez, and I know this will make it an action packed fight.
