Shane Mosley Draw 12 Sergio Mora SCORES: 116-112, 113-115, 114-114

This match up had all the makings of a good fight, with a great storyline. In one corner you had a former great trying to return to glory after a one sided loss, that needed to win. In the other corner you had a young fighter that got his fame from a reality TV show, on the biggest stage, and in the biggest fight of his life. It just didn't happen that way, I guess you do need two to tango. There is no way in hell that Sergio Mora earned a draw against Shane Mosley. Mosley may have looked like he couldn't pull the trigger, but at least his gun was cocked. Sergio just didn't do enough to get the draw, let alone win on 1 scorecard . Shane Moseley seems to only be a shell of his former self, after watching his lack luster performance last night. It wasn't because he was facing a young hungry fighter who gave the performance of his life either. Mosley was facing a much bigger man last night. Mora was the taller, and came in 3 lbs over the 154 weight limit. During most of the fight you could see the apprehensiveness in the eyes of Sergio. He was giving Mosley more respect then he should have, and it caused him to not throw his hands. Mosley wasn't as apprehensive as his opponent. He was throwing his hands when he could, but his timing and coordination was off. Those are a some of the first things to go when you get old. When he wasn't throwing punches at the less talented Mora he had his glove cocked to throw, but just couldn't pull the trigger. There were times that Shane would land hard punches, and unleash his wild combination punching. It was just not enough, especially against the caliber of opponent. It wasn't that much of an action packed fight, until the last couple of rounds. I only think it got better because Mora got to tired to move. Shane Mosley didn't give a great performance, but he did do enough to win. I'm not even get into how the fight was scored, because I don't want to stay angry. There was no justification for the judges scoring that fight a draw. You would have to think that if Mora even got 3 rounds it would have been a generous gift for him. The big question is, where do they go from here? Mosley will most definitely get a few more big money fights because of his name. I bet after his performance last night everybody and their brother will be calling him out. Mora needs to go back to the drawing board, and learn that when your in the main event you need to step up and fight. Thank God there were 3 more knockouts last night, or there could have been a serious backlash.
