MIKE JONES: STILL TIPPIN

Mike Jones (21-0, 17 KO's) VS. Irving Garcia (17-4-3, 8 KO's)

Who? Mike Jones! Who? Mike Jones! Mike Jones has the chance to showcase his skills against Irving Garcia this Friday night on SHOBOX. He is an exciting young fighter from Philly, with mad skills. He has speed, power, ability, and he is from Philly so you know he's not afraid of a war. Any fighter who comes up in Philly has a tough time with the legendary gym wars. He is undefeated, young, and most importantly fun to watch. Those are all of the things you need if you hope to be a star down the road. He hasn't fought the best of opposition , but they are bringing him along at an alright speed. He has a unanimous decision win over the tough veteran Henry Bruseles. You might remember him from his 2005 fight with Floyd Mayweather. He should blow through this guy with ease, and hopefully gain some new fans in the process. He is fighting on a bigger stage and hopefully people will know who he is after Friday night. I would like to see him to step up in competition in his next fight. There are plenty of good boxers to fight at welterweight to make a name against. He is no were close to the top of the division, but with a little hard work he can be there soon.

Martin Honorio Spoils John Molina's Plans

John Molina vs. Martin Honorio (NABF & NABO Lightweight Championship)
Molina said that this fight with Martin Honorio was his stepping stone to the next level in his boxing career in his first headlining appearance on SHO-BOX.  Molina had no idea the stone would fight back like it did however and he had a rude awakening courtesy of gritty vet Martin Honorio. Honorio highlighted the glaring holes in Molina's defense as well as Molina's inability to couter-punch. For the veteran it was a shining moment in his career in which he switched his style up a bit to adapt to his bigger power punching opponent strengths and exploit his weaknesses. Honorio is best known for his war with Rogers Mtagwa as well as for fighting four current or former world champions winning twice against them.

Perez and Ramos Get Down to Business on SHO-BOX

Alejandro Perez vs. Rico Ramos (NABO Youth Championship)
These two young super-bantamweights started the evening out on SHO-BOX in explosive fashion. In a wildly entertaining contest which played out like a highlight reel on repeat, Ramos showcased his skill and power while Perez showed his huge heart and hard head. Ramos out boxed and out punched Perez, but Perez never stopped coming forward and soldiered on. Perez had never hit the canvas in his professional career before this fight in which he was knocked down in the second round via a Ramos counter. Ramos was ultimately the better fighter with Perez only winning 1 round by my score, but he never stopped trying and was competitive enough to keep it entertaining.
Ramos via Unanimous Decision (78-73,80-71,80-71)

HERNANDEZ DECISIONS FRIAS ON SHOBOX

Hernandez won a unanimous decision over the less experienced Frias on ShoBox TNG last night.  Hernandez worked the body shots and pressured Frias throughout nine of the ten rounds of the fight.  During the last round Frias suddenly realised he was in a fight and let his hands go stunning Hernandez momentarily, but it was too little too late at that point. Hernandez spit out his mouthpeice and clinched until he got his wits back and survived the round to pick up the UD victory.

Results:

Hernandez vs. FriasHernandez UD
Fonseca vs. SeegerFonseca TKO 9
