Cris "Cyborg" Santos became the first woman's MMA Champion in Strikeforce history via a first round beat-down of the previously undefeated Gina "Conviction" Carano. Cyborg did as she always does and out-muscled and out-struck her opponent landing hard punches, knees, and scoring takedowns while Carano was unable to mount much of an offense of her own. As the round came to a close Cyborg rained down hard unanswered blows while Gina covered up unable to escape the barrage of fists, which prompted referee Josh Rosenthal to stop the bout with just a second left in the round. Cyborg hails from the famed Chute Box Academy and mauls her opponents with reckless abandon just as Wanderlei did in his prime. Only time will tell if Cris Cyborg will be as dominant a Champion, but my money is on The Cyborg to bring the pain each and every time.
