Unifying Pinoy

Nonito Donaire out worked Rafael Concepcion en route to a unanimous decision victory. He had scores of 117-111, 115-113, and 116-112 which won him the WBA interim super flyweight belt. Hopefully his next fight will be against Vic Darchinyan a man who he already knocked out in 2007 to unify the super flyweight division. Rafael Concepcion gave a spirited challenge to the heavily favored man who would eventually beat him. Concepcion tried to pressure the "Filipino flash" only to find a steady mouthful of counter punches. Donaire used his Superior ring generalship to disrupt his challenger's game plan. Conception weighed in 4.5 pounds heavier then the 115lb super flyweight limit and consequently forfeited 20% of his purse as a fine. Although Donaire injured his hand during the fight he has a bright future ahead of him always drawing a big Filipino crowd and solidifying himself in the pound for pound race.
