Ali Funeka clearly won a unanimous decision against Joan Guzman but was rewarded with a draw. This was a good fight and only the bad decision made it ugly not the blood from Guzman's face. Early it looked like Joan Guzman would be able to out box the lanky South African but that was not the case. Ali pushed up his work rate with harder, straighter punches once he found his range. The amount of punishment that Guzman took was evident by the amount of blood pouring from his face and his blood stained shorts. One of the cuts was caused by an accidental butt. Although most of the blood was because of the jab and straight right hand of Funeka. Joan used his quickness and defensive skill to make Ali look off balance and miss a lot early. Once Ali found range with his jab it set him up for right hands straight up the middle. Joan Guzman showed grit and toughness by making it to the final bell but he didn't deserve the draw. He lost most rounds after the fourth as it seemed Ali became stronger as the fight went on. The scores were 116-112, which was closer than I had it, and 114-114, 114-114 that was total bullshit. The two Canadian judges must have been blind because it wasn't a close fight. Ali Funeka should have been crowned the new champ but instead the title remains vacant. This shit has to stop and judges should be held accountable for there bad decisions.
