The young and undefeated, cocky Koki Kameda won a unanimous decision against Daisuke Naito to win the WBC flyweight title. He is not liked by many in Japan because of his dirty fighting style, overconfident attitude and lack of respect for his opponents. Although his brash style conflicts with traditional Japanese customs he commands a huge TV audience. This fight was no different as it became one of the highest TV rated prizefights in the nation's history. It was a wild fight fought at break neck speed, which suited the young Koki. Kameda used his superior boxing skill to frustrate and beat the champion Daiasuke Naito. The scores were 116-112, 117-111, and 117-111 to give the Kameda clan redemption. The fight was closer than the score cards reflected but the young Koki did win it unanimously on my card as well 116-112. I look forward to watching more of the entertaining Kameda's fights in the future.
