Guillermo Rigondeaux KO 1 Adolfo Landeros TIME: 0:28
It only took the Cuban 28 seconds and one real hard body punch to dispatch Adolfo Landeros. Rigondeaux landed the punishing body blow right on the solar plexus and that was all it took. It was a left hook that ended the fight that was set up by a right hand. Rigondeaux looked great and you can see a bright future for him. He has an extensive amateur record and it can't hurt that he has Freddie Roach in his corner either. Although he didn't give him much of a chance to work last night. He will have to step up in competition soon if he wants a title shot and I'm sure he will.
Yudel Jhonson TKO 1 Dorian Beaupierre TIME: 2:18
Yudel Jhonson the other Cuban that was on the card also delivered a quick knock out win. Beaupierre will have to think about going back into retirement after his performance last night. It was Beaupierre's 1st fight in four years and his 4Th loss in as many fights. Jhonson quickly swarmed his man throwing many punches. Even though he looked a little wild, Jhonson landed and landed often. Jhonson is not as good as Rigondeaux but he is pretty good and it fun to watch.
Ed Paredes KO 2 Joey Hernandez TIME: 1:53
This bad blood rematch between Padedes and Hernandez that ended in a draw the first time finally got some closure. The first fight saw Hernandez throw Paredes through the ropes while in a clinch. The second fight was much better but you could tell they did not like each other. Paredes is tall an lanky but he can still throw tight compact punches and that is what propelled him to victory. Hernandez jumped in and tried to get close but every time he did he clinched. Paredes saw this as an opportunity to catch him while coming in and capitalized on it with a great left hook that knocked out Hernandez. It was the most spectacular of the many knockouts that we saw last night. When it landed you knew it was over and they would be raising Padedes' hand in victory. Ed got some redemption last night in the bad blood rematch and all Hernandez got was a bruised ego and a sore jaw.
