UFC 111 Results: GSP Retains Title
Saint Pierre continued his reign of dominance in the welterweight division by taking home a unanimous decision victory over contender Dan Hardy. Many fans were upset that GSP was unable to finish off Hardy in the fight in which he had Hardy in several submission holds. Georges had a tight arm bar locked in and also a kimura, but was unable get the tap from a resilient Hardy. Some fans are thinking that Saint Pierre may not have cranked on Hardy's arm as hard as he could have to spare him of an arm break, but that is purely speculation.
Shane Carwin emerged as the interim heavyweight champion as he routed Frank Mir for yet another first round KO. Lesnar was in attendance and confronted Carwin after the fight and referred to the interim belt as the "make-believe" belt. These two are being targeted to meet at UFC 116 to unify the titles in one of the most exciting heavyweight scraps that can be made in the sport today. The full results from UFC 111 are below:
