WEC 46: Faber Earns His Shot at The Title
Urijah Faber impressed in his victory over the tough competitor, Raphael Assuncao in WEC 46's Co-Main Event. faber was too quick for Raphael and put the Brazilian in many precarious positions throughout the fight. Faber was able to drop him with his hands on several occasions proving that the grotesque looking broken hands are completely healed. Faber out worked Raphael in every aspect of the game ending the contest in the third round via rear naked choke to get the tapout and cement his spot in the 145lb title picture. Urijah enjoyed a raucous Sacramento California crowd and was greeted by the Champion Jose Aldo who stated that he respects Faber, but that there was no way he was taking his belt. It will be an interesting match for the phenom Jose Aldo who has smoked every other challenger in the WEC ranks thus far.
